Timely Homework Help Available on Camden County Library Website



VOORHEES, NJ – July 23, 2015 – It’s seven thirty in the evening. The kids have just come in from playing, enjoying a fine autumnal twilight. Now your nine-year-old tells you she has a report due comparing and contrasting the arctic and Antarctic as habitats. She started the assignment in class two weeks ago and was supposed to finish it as homework, but she forgot to note it in her assignment planner. Now, it’s due the day after tomorrow.

With the start of another school year, it’s useful to know how much reliable information students and parents can find to do homework from any Internet connection through services offered by the Camden County Library System. Kid’s Zone is a special section on the library’s website that includes homework help in a variety of forms for younger students.

Camden County Library System’s 3rd Summer Music Festival Rolls On

Hundreds of E-Books for Kids and Teens Available for Summer Reading


VOORHEES, NJ – July 13, 2015 -- Kids and teens looking for something to read this summer can find hundreds of downloadable titles available to households with a Camden County Library card.

Go to the library’s home page at and click on ‘Using the Library’ at the top. Look for Kids Zone under Kids & Teens. From there visitors can access the ‘for kids e-reading room’ from OverDrive where they can find titles of downloadable ebooks and audiobooks just for younger readers, all available with a Camden County Library card.

South County Library Reschedules Bubble Party on Its New Patio


VOORHEES, NJ – July 1, 2015 – A power outage last week may have forced the South County Library to postpone its plans, but it won’t stop the library from celebrating summer reading with a little fun on its new patio, Thursday, July 16 at 11 a.m. The party will move indoors if the weather is inclement.

Children and their families are welcome to join some mid-summer fun by blowing bubbles and making bubble art as the library’s summer reading programs continues for kids, tweens and teens continues.

VOORHEES, NJ – July 1, 2015 – The public can find hundreds of new titles that have been added to the Camden County Library System’s collections by going to CamCat, the library’s  online catalog, on its home  page at

Visitors to the home page should click on the Catalog/Account link at the top, and they’ll find Recently Added Titles are among the choices.

Titles are organized by over 12 different categories for targeted browsing. Each category lists all the titles with authors, the number of copies at a branch location for a given title and its current availability.  Categories include Adult Fiction, Kids Books, Nonfiction, Audiobooks, DVDs, Large Print, Biographies, Young Adult titles and much more - all added within the last month.

LVCC Offers Free Tutor Training for Volunteers Starting in July


VOORHEES, NJ – 06-23-15 -- You can make a difference in the life of an adult who wants to learn to speak English or improve his or her reading and math skills. 

Literacy Volunteers of Camden County is seeking volunteers to be trained as tutors.  A free Tutor Training Workshop will be held at the M. Allan Vogelson Regional Branch Library in Voorhees on five Thursday evenings: July 9, 23, 30 and Aug. 6, 13 from 6:15 - 8:45 p.m. 


Three for Three – Camden County Library Music Fest Continues


VOORHEES, NJ – June 22, 2015 – Is there a trend here? For the third year in a row, the Abe Speller 3rio (formerly the New Earth Trio) will perform at three branches of the Camden County Library System as part of its third annual Summer Music Festival.

The trio will bring its blend of contemporary music and modern style with the smooth backdrop of classic American music, providing their special brand of soft jazz. Three performances are scheduled at the following branches, dates and times:

Camden County Library Sets New Spring Book Sale Record at Voorhees


VOORHEES, NJ – June 19, 2015 – The Camden County Library System is pleased to report its recent spring book sale earned the library $17, 905, beating the previous spring sale record of $16, 648.

“We surpassed our previous two-day sale record - set just last spring - by $1,257 or over seven percent,” said Voorhees Branch Manager William Brahms as chief organizer of the sale.

Brahms praised the staff and volunteers who worked to make the sale possible. “We had over 75 staff and volunteers work on the sale during the year.

Voorhees Library Again Joins Macy’s in Supporting RIF Campaign


VOORHEES, NJ – June 18, 2015 – The Camden County Library System is once again joining a nationwide partnership between Macy’s stores and Reading is Fundamental in their Be Book Smart campaign to provide all children with access to quality books.

The M. Allan Vogelson Regional Branch in Voorhees is serving as a local impact site for the campaign through which it will receive books to be given to children. The Vogelson Branch library has been specifically paired with the Macy’s store in the Voorhees Town Center.

VOORHEES, NJ – June 12, 2015 – Learn about different computer programs and the World Wide Web this summer. The Voorhees branch of the Camden County Library is offering several classes on a variety of topics for adults during July.

Being computer literate can be useful for personal business and may even help on the job. Check out a class or two. Please note some classes require familiarity with a computer.
