Salary:                Librarian 1 $24.0406 per hour ($23,752.11 annually), 38 hours per pay period (2 week period)
                             Librarian 2 $25.2420 per hour ($24,939.06 annually), 38 hours per pay period (2 week period)

Schedule:          Schedule based on Library needs, includes days, nights and weekends

The Camden County Library System is looking for a candidate that is able to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and deliver programs and services both virtually and in-person.  The successful candidate will be creative, positive and passionate in finding ways to bring programs, services and materials to residents of Camden County.

Description of Duties
We are seeking a creative professional with enthusiasm for working with children, teenagers, and their families. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing reference and readers advisory assistance for the system via the Youth Services Desk and Library Chat, selecting diverse materials for and maintaining assigned sections of the Youth Services collection, and providing a variety of virtual and in-person programs for children and their families. The successful candidate will also work with our Technical Services Department  to ensure that the digital offerings reflect customer demand and interest as well as working with our system-wide in-house Youth Services Roundtable to develop additional offerings, such as recommended reading lists, social media campaigns, and resources for distance learners. May act as the Person-in-Charge of the branch.  May be scheduled at other Library facilities.

Education/Certification/Experience/ Requirements:
A Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master' program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College.  

May 2021 MLIS graduates encouraged to apply.

Librarian 2 requires: One year of full time equivalent professional librarian experience  
Possession of a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate issued by Thomas Edison College or the credentials and willingness to obtain a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate upon hiring.   Appointee may be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

The Adult Services Department of the Camden County Library is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and creative Librarian who loves to work with the public both in person and virtually. Duties include providing adult reference services in person, by phone and via email and chat; instructing library customers how to use our catalog, databases, digital content and services; collection development; developing, scheduling, and conducting a variety of in- person and virtual programs for adults including creating and teaching computer training classes; community outreach; and staffing the computer lab as needed.
