Book Buddies Programs Growing in Popularity and Reach

It started two years ago at the Voorhees Branch of the Camden County Library and has spread to five of its branches. It’s a concept and practice that goes back to the one-room-school house. Aptly named, Book Buddies involves older kids helping to teach younger kids the fun and joy of reading.

Program to Offer Advice about Keeping Kids Safe on the Internet

The  Vogelson Branch will host a lecture for parents about how they can teach their children to practice Internet safety on Tuesday, March 13, 7 p.m.

Phyllis Kae, who served as a lead independent investigator for the City of Camden and was one the first female investigators in the Camden County Prosecutor’s office will discuss the dangers of cyberspace for the young who are growing up in a digital world where the Internet is a part of their daily experience.

Ferry Ave. Library Branch to Celebrate Black History

The Camden County Library System will observe Black History Month with three programs scheduled at the Riletta L. Cream Ferry Ave. branch in February. Included will be a multi-part African-American film series, a panel discussion on the Writers of the Harlem Renaissance, and a portrayal of Harriet Tubman ...
