Salary:   $11.7261 per hour
 
Schedule: Primarily may include occasional mornings, but primarily afternoon, nights and weekends; Schedule may change based on Library needs

Status:   Permanent after completing 90-day working test period

Description of Duties
Under general supervision, primary duties include but not limited to, discharging and charging library materials, computing and collecting fines, registering customers for library cards and programs, processing holds, answering general questions from the public, assisting customers in locating materials, shelving materials, emptying the book drop, assisting customers on the public computers and other related duties as required. May be scheduled at other branches.

Requirements:
Knowledge of basic arithmetic using whole numbers with the
Ability to perform extensive alphabetizing beyond the first letter of a word.
Ability to converse courteously in person and using other methods of communication
Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or oral one-or-two step instructions
Knowledge of Millennium and Dewey Decimal System and Basic Computer Skills a plus
Appointee may be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

Description of Duties

As a Monitor a candidate may be asked to:
• Cart and shelve Library materials.
• Gather and shelve material that accumulates on book carts, tables, shelves, and study carrels.
• Shelf reading (making sure that materials are in the correct order).
• Empty the outdoor book drops including on weekends and holidays
• Answer the phone and direct calls to the appropriate individuals
• Fax materials to other libraries and to patrons.
At times, in order to perform assigned duties to this position, you may be asked to push a full book cart which can weigh up to 40lbs, twist, bend, kneel, reach, walk or stand for extended periods. May be scheduled at other branches.

Description of Duties

The South County Regional Branch of the Camden County Library is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and creative Librarian who loves to work with the public. Duties include, but are not limited to, reference services for all ages (answering reference and reader’s advisory questions using both print and electronic resources); providing instruction in the use of the catalog and databases; and collection development. Additional duties include developing, scheduling and conducting a diverse format of adult programs including computer classes, and community outreach, all in conjunction with other staff; other duties as required.

Requirements:

A Master's degree in Library or Information Science in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master's Program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College. Prior experience in Adult programming and circulation functions would be helpful.

Appointee may be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
