VOORHEES, NJ – March 11, 2015 – The Voorhees branch of the Camden County Library System will host a workshop for caregivers that explores how keeping a diary can be used to help cope with the responsibilities and pressures of caregiving, Wednesday, March 25, 7 p.m.

Local author and poet Therese Halscheid plans to show how written thoughts can be transformative for caregivers based on her own long experience. Her father had brain damage for thirty years during which time she discovered the value of writing as a way of coping.

Learn firsthand the healing nature of writing and keeping a personal diary where written thoughts can be transformative. Halscheid will reveal how writing of loved ones occurs in layers.

She will read a few selected poems from her new collection “Frozen Latitudes”, which focuses on her life with her father. Copies of the book will be available at the reading.

Registration for the program is available online at or by calling the branch at (856) 772-1636.
