Answer to summer doldrums

Camden County Library offers e-reading room for Kids through OverDrive

“The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” is one of hundreds of titles available in the Kids eReading Room on the Camden County Library’s website through the South Jersey Audiobook and eBook Download Center.

VOORHEES, NJ – July 13, 2015 -- Kids and teens looking for something to read this summer can find hundreds of downloadable titles available to households with a Camden County Library card.

Go to the library’s home page at and click on ‘Using the Library’ at the top. Look for Kids Zone under Kids & Teens. From there visitors can access the ‘for kids e-reading room’ from OverDrive where they can find titles of downloadable ebooks and audiobooks just for younger readers, all available with a Camden County Library card.

The South Jersey AudioBook and eBook Download Center allows library card holders to browse titles by subject, reading levels and collections like ‘new titles’ or ‘most popular’. Users will be asked to provide their library card number and their PIN to download titles.

The e-books are compatible with a broad array of e-readers and devices including tablets, smart phones and desktop computers. The SJ AudioBook and eBook site provides apps needed for the various devices to download books.

The great part is that cardholders can access the service online from any Internet connection at home or elsewhere. Once downloaded to their portable device, cardholders can take their favorite titles on vacation or wherever their busy summer takes them. And they don’t need to worry about returning their downloaded eBooks or Audio books.

If more information or help is needed, please visit the library’s website and click on the ECONTENT tab at the top to find more directions about ebooks from OverDrive.

Residents in 26 member communities of Camden County are eligible for a free library card and others can buy one for a reasonable fee. For more information about getting a library card go to

The South Jersey Audio Book and eBook Download Center is made available by the New Jersey Library Cooperative and powered by OverDrive.
