Four Branch Libraries Get Ready for Release of Next “Star Wars” Movie

Next chapter in film series to open nationwide on Friday, Dec. 18

Star Wars fans at Camden County Library are feeling the Force with plans for programs at four branches. This stamp commemorates a key scene from the first movie.

VOORHEES, NJ – Nov. 30, 2015 -- The much anticipated release of “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” is on the mind of movie fans at the Camden County Library. Four branches of the library will be offering programs to get younger fans ready for the next chapter of the enormously popular sci-fi series that first opened 38 years ago, but not in a galaxy far, far away.

After a Los Angeles premier on Monday, Dec. 14, the movie is set to be released nationwide on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015. During the week of its release, the library will offer different programs at the following branches.

            Star Wars Lightsaber Craft and Trivia Challenge

Saturday, December 12, 10:30 a.m., Ages 8 - 12 - Test your Star Wars knowledge and make a lightsaber. Wear your favorite Star Wars gear or t-shirt.

           Star Wars Celebration!

Gloucester Township
Wednesday, December 16, 6:30 p.m., Grades 4 - 8 - Join us for Star Wars themed trivia, activities and crafts in preparation for the new film release.

            Do-it-yourself Star Wars Craft

Thursday, December 17, 3 - 5 p.m., Ages 4 and up - Drop in after school to celebrate the release of the new movie. Supplies will be available in the children's area to make a Star Wars themed paper bag craft.

            Star Wars Day at the Library

South County
Friday, December 18, 3 - 8 p.m., All ages - Create Star Wars crafts, stay for themed snacks and play Jedi games. Feel free to come dressed as your favorite character.
