VOORHEES, NJ – April 17, 2012 – Art Aware of Camden is staging an exhibit of student art work at the Riletta L. Cream Ferry Ave. Branch library of the Camden County Library System starting April 28 and running to the end of the year.

The opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2012, 2:30 p.m. with light refreshments. The exhibit will feature work initiated by Art Aware and by art teachers in the public, parochial and charter schools of Camden.

"The atmosphere in the art room with the art teacher is the most creative time of the  school day for elementary school students,” said Art Aware Founder and Director Barbara Pfeiffer.  She added, “The artwork featured in the exhibit from pre-K to 8th grade is stupendous!”

Art Aware is a nonprofit organization that has been working in the elementary and middle schools of Camden City and Philadelphia for over twenty years. According to its website, “Art Aware serves inner city students by introducing them to world culture through art, helping them to interact with civilizations from ancient to modern, empowering them to see the life-giving force of art, each in his or her own way.”
