David Lisa Joins Camden County Library as New Associate Director

VOORHEES, NJ – April 25, 2012 -- David Lisa of Berlin, New Jersey was recently appointed as Associate Director of the Camden County Library.

Lisa brings broad experience as a library professional and contemporary interests to his new role in a system that serves a population of approximately 323,000 and continues to grow with the addition of two new branches in Camden City this past year.

A popular culture enthusiast, Lisa recently served as a Project Specialist for the New Jersey State Library where he worked in adult services and urban libraries. Previously he was the Director of the West Long Branch Public Library (NJ), a reference librarian at Wayne Public Library (NJ) and an access services librarian at Mercyhurst College's Hammermill Library in Pennsylvania.

“I am thrilled to begin working with the most innovative and service-oriented county library system in the US. I plan to apply my knowledge of public and urban libraries, popular culture, collection development, mobile technology and social media in order to create the best services and programming for our customers all around Camden County,” said Lisa.

With a Master of Library Science degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Lisa has also taught at the Rutgers University School of Communication and Information and at the Clarion University of Pennsylvania School of Library Science.

Reflecting his diverse interests as a library professional, Lisa has presented nationally on a variety topics including the evolving state of e-reading, collection development in public libraries and the impact of handheld technology and social media in libraries.  Lisa also enjoys writing and is an enthusiast of social media, video games, home theater, comics and graphic novels.
