Free Saturday afternoon concert on Oct. 10 begins at 1:30 p.m.

VOORHEES, NJ – Oct. 7, 2015 - Two troubadours are riding into Voorhees for a special afternoon of contemporary cowboy music and poetry at the M. Allan Vogelson Regional Branch of the Camden County Library on Saturday, October 10th, 2015. The library is presenting Kerry Grombacher and Aspen Black in an all-ages concert beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Grombacher and Black’s songs draw vivid portraits and tell fascinating stories that are set in the Western landscape, where they’ve worked and traveled with cowboys and Indians, ranchers and rodeo riders, outfitters and chuckwagon cooks, and lawmen and lawbreakers.

Kerry Grombacher plays guitar and mandolin, writes contemporary western songs and tours nationally for concerts and writing workshops. His songs have been featured on the ABC-TV adventure travel show, “Born to Explore,” on their program about the Black Hills and the annual Buffalo Round Up at Custer State Park and on a recent Putumayo World Records CD, “Cowboy Playground,” that was released in over 60 countries.

Aspen Black plays guitar, and she writes songs and poems that draw on her experiences training and showing horses in Oklahoma and Texas, riding the rodeo circuit and traveling in the west. Aspen lived in Nashville for a time and recorded two albums that rose on the country music radio charts, but now she devotes her talents to western music and poetry.

The free concert is open to all ages and starts at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10. The M. Allan Vogelson Regional Branch Library is located at 203 Laurel Rd., Voorhees, NJ (across from the Voorhees Town Center). Call 856-772-1636 for more information.
