VOORHEES, NJ – Dec. 19, 2012 –  Donations continued to be counted after last week when the Camden County Library System’s Books for Kids 2012 holiday campaign officially ended on Wednesday, Dec. 12. At last count it appears library customers and local residents gave over
3, 800 new and gently-used books, surpassing the old record by over 1,800.

The library needs a few days after the drive ends to box and prepare the books for the Camden County Children Services Department to distribute to kids and families across the county. It turns out the library system’s eight branches collected another thousand books in a little less than a week.

The library wants to thank the generosity of its customers and county residents as well as to acknowledge local media outlets that helped get the word out to share the gift of reading with kids this holiday season.
