Camden County Library System Offers Eclectic Winter Music Series

Popular, local performers warm things up with appearances at six branches

VOOHREES, NJ – Nov. 21, 2013 – There’s something for a variety of tastes and ages in the Winter Music Series being offered by the Camden County Library System this December.

Holiday Music with Mark Carroll will kick off the series Wednesday, Dec. 4, 6:30 p.m. at the Merchantville Branch. Carroll will play a variety of traditional Irish instruments including the Celtic Harp and hammered dulcimers to bring holiday cheer.

The Sounds of Motown will be heard at the Nilsa I. Cruz-Perez Downtown branch, Thursday, Dec. 5, 6 p.m. when local musician Jon Turk brings back the golden age of soul and invites listeners to enjoy the Motown Sound with him.

After a number of well-received performances during the library’s Summer Music Festival, the New Earth Trio returns to offer some holiday cheer with their special brand of soft jazz at the South County Branch on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m..

The library will offer something different when two of its branches host Shades of Harmony, an all women's chorus that will treat listeners to a delightful holiday performance of acapella barbershop harmony. The group will make two appearances on Saturday, Dec. 7 with a performance at Bellmawr, 10:30 a.m. and at the Voorhees Branch, 12:30 p.m.

Finally, Ferry Ave. will present popular local musician Sarah O’Brien who offers her unique, interactive musical performance on Thursday, Dec. 12, 3:30 p.m.
