VOORHEES, NJ – July 2, 2013 – Three local authors and two publishers will present workshops on writing and publishing at the Nilsa I. Cruz-Perez Downtown Branch of the Camden County Library System, Saturday, July 13, 1 – 4 p.m.

The open house is designed to offer conversation and networking opportunities for members of the local creative community. Among the authors presenting workshops are Ronnie C. Dawson, “Irreconcilable Differences: ‘Til Death Do Us Part”; Keanna Lynette Ralph, “Detours to Destiny: When the Detour Becomes the Path”; Valerie Anne Todd-Listman, “God’s Will: Inviting and Exciting.”

Two publishers will join the open house to offer advice and insight into the world of book publishing. Rhonda Ferebee Hammond is the founder and publisher of Positive with a Purpose, a marketing consultant and a personal coach.

Deborah Smart is an independent publishing consultant and operator of One Smart Lady Productions/Gladstone Publishing Services. She has helped launch the careers of nine debut authors and has helped publish more than 20 books, both through traditional and independent publishing.

About the Authors

Dawson is a social services professional who helps the disadvantaged get a new start in life. He is a Camden native and currently resides in Williamstown, New Jersey.

Ralph, also as Camden native and two time Rutgers alumna, describes her book as a work that inspires and motivates people to find hope even in the most difficult times in life.

Todd-Linsman has survived abuse, homelessness and incarceration to write her first book. She is a married mother of five and native of Philadelphia.

As librarian and manager of the Rutgers Downtown branch, Julie Tozer explains how the idea for the open house developed.  “When Keanna and Ronnie both contacted me to find out how to do book signings at the branch, I knew the library would be the perfect place to hold a larger event to bring the local writing community together,” notes Tozer.

Registration for the open house is available online at www.camdencountylibrary.org/events or by calling the branch at 856-225-6807. Directions are available at http://www.camdencountylibrary.org/locations-hours
