Local author/artist will explain his success using Kickstarter

VOORHEES, NJ – April 18, 2016 – Learn how to harness the power of the Internet to help fund a project. The Camden County Library System is offering a workshop on Crowdfunding to learn about what it is and how it works at two branch locations.

Crowdfunding 101:

            Voorhees: Friday, April 29, 7 - 8 p.m.
            Nilsa I. Cruz-Perez Downtown Branch: Saturday, May 28,10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Crowdfunding platforms can be confusing and intimidating places whether running a campaign to generate funding for a personal project or looking for creative projects to support financially.

Matthew Meyer will explain the basic principles and theories behind crowdfunding and offer advice on running a successful campaign. Meyer is a local author/artist who has successfully run two Kickstarter campaigns that have generated more than $45,000 combined. He also maintains an active Patreon account with more than 40 monthly subscribers. He’ll share some of the lessons he has learned along the way, offer some tips to maximize success and answer questions about his experiences.

In addition to Kickstarter, Meyer is expected to discuss other platforms like IndieGoGo and GoFundMe.
