Camden County Library Now Offers Rosetta Stone® for All Patrons

Language learning for all needs from ESL to business and vacation travel

Camden County Library now offers the Rosetta Stone language learning program free to patrons of the library.

VOORHEES, NJ – July 28, 2016 -- The Camden County Library System now is offering patrons free access to Rosetta Stone® for those who want to learn a different language. Whether library card members are looking to learn a brand new language, further their ESL learning as non-native English speakers or brush up on a language for business or vacation travel, Rosetta Stone® Library Solution from EBSCO Information Services is a perfect solution.

This vital resource includes 30 languages (from Arabic to Vietnamese) to meet a range of cultural interests. Learning is structured around core lessons to build reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and also includes focused activities to refine grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and more.

Rosetta Stone Library Solution offers libraries and their patrons the proven immersion method that more than 22,000 schools and 12,000 businesses have trusted for over 20 years. The award-winning interactive approach has been used by millions of learners around the world and now is accessible in the library--or anywhere, anytime thanks to available mobile apps that enable learners to reinforce their learning wherever they may be.

“We are pleased to offer this valuable language learning resource to our patrons with the aid of the New Jersey State Library. Helping to meet the interests and needs of our residents in this very practical way also fosters cultural awareness in the diverse communities of Camden County and New Jersey.

It’s one more benefit that adds value to having a library card and access to all that we offer residents,” says Camden County Library Director Linda Devlin.

As liaison to the library system, Camden County Freeholder Bill Moen is enthusiastic about Rosetta Stone. “This is a great tool to help us all celebrate the diversity of Camden County by being able to speak in the languages of our neighbors.  There is no better way to experience another culture than to learn its customs and learn to speak its language.  It will open a world of opportunity to you, says Moen.

Rosetta Stone Library Solution replaces Mango as the library’s language learning resource and can be found on the Camden County Library website at http://www.camdencountylibrary.org/rosetta-stone  where apps are available for different mobile devices to allow learning on the go.

Residents in 26 member communities can get a free library card and others can purchase one at a nominal price. Information is available at http://www.camdencountylibrary.org/get-library-card or by calling one of the system’s eight local branches.
