Five different programs, 16 free events slated at different branch locations

The Abe Speller 3rio once again joins the Camden County Library’s summer music series with three performances planned.

VOORHEES, NJ –June 2, 2016 – The Camden County Library System proudly announces the 2016 lineup for its fourth annual Summer Music Series. This year’s rendition includes jazz, classical and pop with a focus on Elvis.

Camden County College Jazz Ensemble

A selection of jazz favorites and standards will be performed by the student musicians of Camden County College at the following branch locations. Recommended for music lovers and students interested in the music program at Camden County College.

Voorhees: Tuesday, June 14, 7 p.m.
Ferry Ave.: Saturday, July 30, 1 p.m.
Bellmawr: Monday, August 29, 7 p.m.

Elvis Unplugged

Discover the historical moments in the life and times of Elvis Presley through music and storytelling. An Elvis-torian will guide us through moments and memories of Elvis' own life, relating how the man and his music were influenced by the issues and events of the times.

 

Bellmawr: Monday, June 20, 7 p.m.

Haddon Township: Wednesday, June 29, 7 p.m.

Merchantville: Monday, July 11, 7 p.m.

South County: Friday, July 29, 7 p.m.

 

Abe Speller 3rio

Enjoy the jazzy sounds of the Abe Speller 3rio. They blend contemporary music and modern style with the smooth backdrop of classic American music, providing their own special brand of soft jazz.

 

Cruz-Perez Downtown (on the Rutgers Campus): Saturday, June 25, 12 noon

Ferry Ave.: Saturday July 16, 1 p.m.

South County: Friday, August 26, 7 p.m.

 

Haddonfield Cello Society

An ensemble of local musicians composed of four cellos accompanied by piano and violin. Their repertoire this summer includes classical as well as current Broadway tunes.

 

Bellmawr: Wednesday, July 13, 7 p.m.

Gloucester Township: Tuesday, July 19, 7 p.m.

Haddon Township: Wednesday, July 20, 7 p.m.

Voorhees: Tuesday, July 26, 7 p.m.

Merchantville: Wednesday, July 27, 7 p.m.

 

Symphony in C Summer Camp Showcase

 

Area students learn and perform alongside sensational young professional musicians during Symphony in C’s annual intensive summer training camp. This annual showcase, held outside the branch in Emerge Plaza on the Rutgers-Camden campus, is a warm-up for the camp’s final concert.

Cruz-Perez Downtown Branch (on the Rutgers Campus): Thursday, August 11, 11 a.m.
